Victorian 1837 – 1901
A fabulous antique Victorian toasting fork – wonderful for toasting crumpets, toast, or marshmallows on a cold winter’s day!
This toasting fork belonged to my grandma – I fondly remember using it to make toast with her over an open fire. There are two telescopic brass sections, with a gothic iron fork at the end and a steel handle, which is painted black, giving a lovely ebonised effect. One of the fork prongs is a tiny bit shorter than the others; I suspect the tip of it may have broken off many years ago. There is some surface wear commensurate with age and use, but in overall very good condition for its considerable age and still very usable today. It comes complete with its original useful metal hanging ring.
