A FABULOUS and very rare GIULIANO FRATTI vintage triple strand necklace. Three gloriously extravagant rows, made up of white pearlescent glass beads, which have a beautiful iridescence, just like mother-of-pearl. There are faceted clear aurora borealis beads and citrine coloured spacers. The beads are in wonderful condition.
The necklace fastens with a large gold plated filigree push-in box clasp (a trademark of Fratti’s) set with an aurora borealis jewel. This closes with a reassuring click. The ‘GM’ signature (for Giuliano Milan) often appears on the reverse of the clasp, however, pieces were not always signed, as Fratti designed jewellery for several haute couture fashion houses. This necklace is unsigned, but is undoubtedly by Giuliano Fratti.
Highly sought after Milan based Italian designer, Giuliano Fratti, produced standout pieces for Dior, Chanel and Worth, along with other haute couture fashion houses, from the 1930’s to the 1960’s. His pieces are hard to find and rarely come up for sale. This is a real snip for any collector!
