A fabulous vintage Austrian crystal aurora borealis beads double strand necklace. The necklace has just been cleaned and is fantastically sparkly now! It looks mesmerising when it catches the light and flashes lovely pastel rainbow colours.
The beads are threaded on the original ‘cat-gut’ thread, which still appears good and strong. The necklace fastens with a fabulous rhinestone encrusted fish-hook clasp. I love this type of clasp – it’s almost impossible for a necklace to come undone and fall off when wearing one of these. The clasp closes with a reassuring click.
The necklace is unsigned, but is attributed to British makers – Exquisite, who were perhaps better known for their enamel birthday brooches.

And the longest: 19” or 48.5cm
The largest central bead measures: 11.09mm diameter
