A beautiful antique Max NEIGER Bohemian Czech Egyptian Revival necklace. The necklace is made up of white poured glass beads, infused with uranium, which makes them fluoresce magnificently to a brilliant green under UV light. It’s worth noting that the uranium content is miniscule and totally harmless.
These moulded glass beads are hand-painted, to make them look as though they have been carved, in the Egyptian Revival style. There are French jet faceted beads, along with cobalt blue spherical beads and lovely brass bead caps. The necklace is hand-knotted, denoting quality. The French wire, next to the clasp, looks newer than the beads, so I do wonder if the necklace has been shortened at some point (not by me). If that is the case, they have done a great job. It fastens with the original bolt ring clasp.
Nice length, not too long and not too short. Measures: 18.75″, or 48.5cm
