A beautiful, classic and elegant, antique French jet (glass) faceted beads long necklace. The necklace dates to the Art Deco period, but is very much in the Victorian style. The beads are lovely and chunky towards the centre. They are in wonderful condition, with nice crisp facets, displaying only minor signs of wear. The necklace is such a classic – it will go with so many different outfits.
When I acquired this necklace, it was on the original cat gut thread and didn’t hang very well at all (please see final photo). It has just been professionally re-threaded, exactly as it was, with the original screw barrel clasp…. and now it looks Fantastic! It is just begging to be worn. Anybody who has ever had a necklace professionally re-threaded will know how expensive it is, so this represents excellent value for money.
Nice length, not too long and not too short. Measures: 24″ or 61cm
