A Fabulous Vintage Art Deco very fine cotton square scarf, with a beautiful hand-painted/printed design of alpine spring flowers. The floral design includes edelweiss, auricula, viola, snowdrops, crocuses and gentian violets, to name but a few. The background is black, which gives the scarf a lovely dramatic look, particularly with the contrasting white border. The edges are hand-rolled, denoting high quality. I believe this would have been made in Switzerland.
A nice versatile size, which can be worn in any number of ways – including tied at the throat, as a bandanna around the head, or around a hat. Ideal for right now.
The scarf is in fantastic condition, with no damage of any kind – so rare for a scarf of this age, especially one that is made in such a fine cotton as this. It’s just begging to be worn now!
